The ‘Palandri Cellar Store Café’ was awarded GOLD in the category of Tourism Winery and SILVER in the category of Tourism Retailing at the WA Tourism Awards Gala Dinner on the weekend.

The WA Tourism Awards recognise and reward excellence in the Tourism Industry. With over 30 different categories, the coveted awards are hotly contested. For the past fiver years the Palandri Cellar Store Cafe has reached the finals in the Tourism Retailing and Tourism Wineries categories, in 2006 winning the Tourism Winery category and in 2003, winning the Tourism Retailing category.

Simone Darnell, Palandri’s Cellar Door Manager says the award win is a fantastic boost with the summer tourist period looming.

“As the public face of Palandri, in one of Australia’s best tourist regions, we have a responsibility to offer the best possible product and service,” says Simone.

Palandri’s architecturally distinctive yet approachable Cellar Store Cafe has redefined the cellar door experience for locals and tourists alike.

“We are proud of our achievements and contribution to the tourism industry. In the eight years we have established ourselves, not just as another Winery and Cellar Door, but a major tourist attraction for the region offering something for everyone. To be recognised by the industry is a fantastic reward for our hard work and innovative strategy,” Simone went on to say.

Located on the Bussell Highway just ten minutes north of Margaret River, the Palandri Cellar Store Café welcomes over 100,000 visitors annually. The modern, state-of-the-art winery comprises a café, a cellar door boasting one of the best gift shops in the region, and a production facility capable of processing 4,500 tonnes of fruit a year.
